How Sleep Can Help You Smash Your New Year Resolution

On April 6, 2007, Arianna Huffington–Founder of Huffington Post–hit her head on the desk, broke her cheekbone, and she woke up in a pool of blood with a cut on her right eye.

“I collapsed from exhaustion, burnout and sleep deprivation, breaking my cheekbone on the way down,” Arianna Huffington said in one of her Facebook posts.

You see, one of the gremlins that might hinder you from smashing your New Year’s Resolution is Sleep Deprivation.

If you’re not sleeping well, you run the risk of getting a heart attack, stroke, diabetes or even death. On the other hand, when you get quality sleep of 7 to 8 hours you wake up feeling energised, get sick less often, think clearly; perform better, get along better with people, and you’d be able to smash your goals.

As much as you want to achieve groundbreaking results this year, don’t forget to get enough sleep so you won’t end up in a pool of blood.
