5 ways to keep your beddings crispy clean
The ease that a washing machine affords could make the thought of washing your clothes yourself appear tedious. But long before the invention of the machine in the 1850s, humans spent their laundry hours with friends and family in the cosy ambience of riverine areas.
Perhaps you’d like to excuse yourself from a modern take and embrace an agelong ritual for such benefit as self-reflection while doing your laundry. Because they need not be washed as often as your clothes, we found your beddings the best fit for this exercise and should you prefer to make this a ritual; we have identified the following ways to keep your beddings crispy clean.

- Wash with cold water
Washing your sheets in hot water makes them cleaner—soaking them in too hot water will promote shrinkage, deteriorate the fabric and cause the colours to fade quickly. Use cold water. Dipping your sheets in ordinary water alone may not rid them of tough stains, so check out tips 3 and 4 will for better outcomes. Let’s deal with the stubborn stains on the next tip.

- Use Vinegar & Baking Soda
Vinegar and Baking soda are both popular ingredients with natural odour-neutralising
abilities. Add baking soda (half cup) and then add distilled white vinegar separately into the fabric softener dispenser.
- Don’t squeeze when spreading
Squeezing your fabrics will make them dry faster, but that pulls the threads and incurs more time in the laundry when ironing. Consider pressing your sheets as that straightens them and improves their overall appearance and feel. So, spread without squeezing and you’ll iron less and eliminate wrinkling.
Now that you know the 5 simplest ways to keep your beddings crispy clean and never lose
the appeal that got you buying them in the first place, avoid the following to maintain a culture of ease and beauty for your bedclothes:
- Over drying your sheets: Too much exposure to heat can damage the fabric and
increase the chances of wrinkling. To avoid wrinkling, do not over dry your sheets. - Overloading your Dryer: Do not overload your dryer/washer during the laundering
process because this will contribute to making fabrics twisted and shrunken. When
loading your dryer, place one sheet at a time and set it to medium heat. Also, try
laying the sheets on the mattress while it’s slightly damp (it won’t wet your bed). - Use of Excess Detergent: Avoid using excess detergent or washing agents in the
wash cycle.
